Interpretation[]
Tea Break is about an Assistant to a famous writer whom she refers to as Mr. Writer. She sometimes served him some parfait and tea whenever he was out of ideas, so that he could take a break. While she was making one, though, she noticed him loafing about playing with his cat. She scolded him and told him to start writing again. When she put the parfait on the table, he remarked that the parfait she made was the best, in which she (presumably abashedly) thanked him. To her, it sometimes felt incredible that the person who was eating her strawberry parfait was a certain famous writer.
When the sky was paved with afterglow, the Writer came to her with his manuscripts, saying "See? I'm done". While reading it, he asked if it was interesting, but the Assistant did not respond; she was so engrossed in the story that she didn't hear his question.
