Interpretation[]
Eko is the leader of a small city in the desert known as the Mist Sand Oasis. She journeys to bring back her city a divine, golden bird called the Bird of Light - and under her rule, the tribe flourishes to become the richest in the desert. However, a sandstorm suddenly destroys the oasis, and the survivors fall into depression, believing it to be a punishment from the heavens. Refusing to surrender to fate, Eko rallies her people to follow the Bird of Light in search for a new oasis home. As she searches, she overcomes her anger and exhaustion through her will and determination. This empowers her people to follow her and trust in her fully on her journey. After an endless, tiring journey, the Bird of Light locates a green meadow where they can settle. Having grown through the cowardice and confusion, Eko transforms the anger once in her heart into a spirit dedicated to leading her people into their new lives.
