Interpretation[]
The suit is about the God of Bamboo Moon. As someone of her status, she had to behave properly and never get close to the humans. Her duty included repetitive chants and incense, which made up an eternity and therefore made her bored, but when she looked down into the mortal world, she saw the colors of the mortals. Nobody would question her if she was a noble puppet dressed in luxurious silk, but now, she yearned to be the master of her own fate. Thus she up and left her servants and her luxuries, dressed in only plain white clothing.
The only divine thing she took with her was the golden litter, which housed her when she was drunk. She drank with poets and learned swordsmanship in the mountains, calling herself Beyond Bamboo. She never felt so free before, but because of her divine nature, her friends and foes passed away before her. She once had a bosom friend who she drunk all night with, and all she had left was a pair of jade eardrops. Her bosom friend is most likely the old poet whose last bit of inspiration dissolved into the wine bag, full of aroma. When the swordsman left she forged the sword soul (presumably theirs) into a sharp blade. At some point, when she asked a man where he got precious herbs from, he said that she had to walk to the darkest forest and never look back.
With a cup of wine that may be worth a story, she traveled alone when everyone was gone. Even when time passed she still found humans complicated, and Beyond Bamboo became a legend to the mortal world. The golden litter took her across the bamboo forest and towards the Moon.

Her name in Chinese is 越篁, or Yuehuang. She shares the same character 越 (Yue) with the Yue clan of the Cloud Empire, possibly indicating a link to them. 篁 (Huang) means "big bamboo grove".
