  • I've accidentally added a clothing item to the Dreamy Afternoon Tea category page. How do I remove it?

      Loading editor
    • Hi!

To remove categories, you have to be in editing mode. Here's a few screenshots I took, it may look like the first two or the last one depending on which editor you use.

      Visual Editor: Removecategories0 Removecategories1

      Classic Editor: Removecategories2

      Hope this helps!

  • Long ago, I recall seeing pics of the NPCs in all kinds of different outfits in different stages. But now, I can't seem to find them.

...Are we trying to remove ripped images and replace them with screenshots? I also recall seeing transparent pics of characters in waist-up/full body long ago, but now, they have some sort of background behind them.

    • That one was actually posted in the official Discord! They will put the pictures up early for official surveys and I don't think there's any image compression like in Facebook since it's just a "file". (or if there is, it's very little?) Comes as a PNG. It's not the only one like that, but they don't release the close ups and etc there.

And sure. I cannot make anyone do anything anyways. I don't think any of us have plans to do anything right now because like I said it is just simply not our priority.

    • Oooh, that's cool!

Plus, it's also totally unrealistic to prohibit every single rip, e.g. all those mini event currencies, or backgrounds, because that pesky back button and the server time is going to ruin the view anyway. Especially if the backgrounds are large and movable. And it's also near-impossible for someone to have a 100% wardrobe or backgrounds, especially considering that there are one-time suits and associated backgrounds like Banshee Momiji and others.

      Phew...

  • Hello, as you already know, this is the other Shining Nikki player that semi-regularly contributed to the wiki for Shining Nikki background images and card images, as well as BGM compilation https://www.dropbox.com/sh/pmsmg6vx3q7hl4n/AABl-QnDtNRy6NKVHmYfcUn7a?dl=0

As for BGM, it's compiled until the Sleepless in Qinjiang event, the kitsune event, the last thing I participated in SN before I quit. However, there's no stage story cutscene loops, tho.

Here's where I get chapter stage background images found in Shining Nikki/Gallery: https://m.weibo.cn/u/6498105282?jumpfrom=weibocom (Shining Nikki Official Weibo, you have to scroll down really far because it's bombarded by other stuff lately)

Maybe you know this already, but Nikki also has her own Weibo as a personality: https://m.weibo.cn/u/6775494073?refer_flag=1005055014_&refer_flag=1005055014_&jumpfrom=weibocom

But then, what about the Shining Nikki-related pages in the wiki? Would they continue to be stubs until the English version gets released? Look, I'm not quitting to burden you, I quit the game because it got too chorelike for me recently.

And...let's talk about BGM management later.

    • It's okay... I mean, if an English version is released, they'll hopefully release events, arena featured suits and other things in the same order as it has been in TW. Then once again, I can listen out for BGM for stuff I've never seen before (i.e. missed. or maybe exclusive to us) in the TW version.

Speaking of card art, keep in mind that the Weibo link pics has a character quote on the bottom, a border, the card's name and everything. Oh, not to mention the obligatory Shining Nikki watermark. And it's not the full view, people who own a card will know that there's some more details above, below, and to the left and right of the default positioning of the image, but merging them together would be labor. But speaking of chapter background images from Weibo, they are indeed in super high cinematic quality (4k * 2k, or maybe 5k * 3k! OMG!), despite having the obligatory Shining Nikki watermark, or the location's name. Ripped backgrounds in Love Nikki have quite low dimensions, tho, (1001 * 1334 for most screen-fitting backgrounds), but because idk how to rip, I'm even more curious to see the rip quality in Shining Nikki images, since the Weibo pics themselves are of cinematic quality.

And, one last thing. FB lowers the quality of any pics posted there, so unless they have nothing else outside of FB, never, ever grab pics from FB, unless that's the only place where they have a particular pic, or if that's where everything is, there's no other choice. Same goes for imgur, which is the website Nikki Reddit users are asked to use if they want to provide challenge entries and such. But I use https://imgbb.com, that retains quality. Lensdump has equal quality and UI (although the color scheme is different) to imgbb, but since idk when, Lensdump requires having an account to upload stuff, while https://imgbb.com doesn't.

    • From what you say, it actually sounds like the image quality from Weibo is better than the rip quality. This confirms/matches up with other stuff I've noticed too tbh. It makes sense since they might have to optimize it for the game to save on space. Good to know about FB, it's too bad it's all we've got for LN but at least they release the close ups too! Interesting, I don't think I've ever used imgbb. I like lensdump ok but I hate how there's no back button when you click on an image... they really ought to add that.

  • Have you/others decided not to use the Needs HQ image category anymore? (Asking for clarification.) If so, I'll start removing it from pages that still include it.

  • Apparently, both of this item's evolved forms are named "Blood Rhombus Yarn - Rare". I was wondering how we should name the pages. My thought was we could call the first evolved form "Blood Rhombus Yarn - Rare" and the second one "Blood Rhombus Yarn - Rare (Final Form)". Thoughts? :")

    • Hey! Yeah, that sounds good with me! They hardly need a disambig since one links to the other. Seeing the items be listed like that in game *again* was pretty frustrating but that sounds like a good fix

    • This has happened before?? I know the translation isn't the best, but it seems like the team is asleep on the job. xD

    • Bleghhh... yes. :P You can see my reaction to it here, at the bottom under New Dupes: https://lovenikki.fandom.com/wiki/User:Kuhlau/Dupes?oldid=43284

Basically what happened was I actually did go to in-game Support, and miraculously, they understood exactly what I was talking about. Then they went and fixed like, over 90% of the dupes in the next update, not just the Rare>Rare ones, which was unexpected. And since they have reverted their "fixes" before, that's why I waited a couple of update cycles to make sure they were going to stay that way in the game before fixing the entire wiki. :D

But yeah, obviously they've kept adding more and more, including some new ones in the same update they fixed the old ones, so whatever they did to fix the old ones was apparently a one-time thing. I sort of cringe at the idea of going to Support again about the same issue, especially since I have a mostly unsuccessful open conversation with them right now about Group Buy items not showing the right method of obtainment, so I just sort of gave up even though in theory it's an easy solution.

    • Wow, they really aren't paying attention, are they? :"D I don't blame them for repeats; it's difficult to think up 9,000+ individual names after all. But the "Rare>Rare" thing doesn't make much sense to me. xD In any case, hopefully they'll fix it in the update.

  • where do i get the images for clothing?

  • Hello, Whie I was looking through some suits, I noticed a tiny dot underneath the image. Is there something extra in the code? I coudln't find it in the source mode or in the source code for the template.

  • As I've been working on creating categories, I had a thought: do we have a category for suits that have not nor will ever return (as confirmed by the creators)? I think that information would be a good thing to add to the suit's page and as a category.

Off the top of my head, here are some that won't come back:

    • Hey! Yeah I absolutely think that's important info to add to the suit page. The last one I can think of is Banshee Momiji. Feel free to make a category too, the more information the better! Maybe it could be called non-returning suits or something like that.

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, that's the one. Okay, I'll get started on that. ^_^
