  • Excuse me, can you delete this file, please?

I mistakenly put a picture of the wrong location.

  • Hello, as you already know, this is the other Shining Nikki player that semi-regularly contributed to the wiki for Shining Nikki background images and card images, as well as BGM compilation https://www.dropbox.com/sh/pmsmg6vx3q7hl4n/AABl-QnDtNRy6NKVHmYfcUn7a?dl=0

As for BGM, it's compiled until the Sleepless in Qinjiang event, the kitsune event, the last thing I participated in SN before I quit. However, there's no stage story cutscene loops, tho.

Here's where I get chapter stage background images found in Shining Nikki/Gallery: https://m.weibo.cn/u/6498105282?jumpfrom=weibocom (Shining Nikki Official Weibo, you have to scroll down really far because it's bombarded by other stuff lately)

Maybe you know this already, but Nikki also has her own Weibo as a personality: https://m.weibo.cn/u/6775494073?refer_flag=1005055014_&refer_flag=1005055014_&jumpfrom=weibocom

But then, what about the Shining Nikki-related pages in the wiki? Would they continue to be stubs until the English version gets released? Look, I'm not quitting to burden you, I quit the game because it got too chorelike for me recently.

And...let's talk about BGM management later.

    • Well, as for the Styling Battle Intro BGM, the fade-in is unavoidable, because the styling battle intro BGM will only occur once at the very beginning, and as I said, the transition between different scenes is always marked by a fade-in.

And...wha?! The composers are Japanese? I mean, they sound totally different from, say, otome game BGMs, or even sad anime songs, or even the soundtrack of any Japan-made game ever. They just have a different vibe. I copypasted one of their names in kanji followed by Shining Nikki in Chinese into a search engine, read something about them through a translator, and it said that Oshima made the BGM for Maze Stages 1 and 2,  "as well as some of the chapters" (unspecified), while Kagaya made the BGM for the interface where character cards are managed, as well as the music for Chapter 2 Xingyu Town. But keep in mind that Xingyu Town has 2 different BGMs, so I don't know which of the BGMs was being referred to.

Oh...so LING-LING LING is just a really good ripper.

Wait! We all know that since some kind of update, the title screen, arena opponent selection theme and the World Boss(?) title part (That one where you get a few pieces of clothing and character card shards, attempts reset every Wednesday and Saturday and the lineup gets changed after 2 months.) is a French song. French lyrics are already transcribed online, but even so, putting the French lyrics in a search engine still can't lead me to the title of this song, the singer and composer. It just leads me to more Chinese websites talking about how this song is awesome, with no information whatsoever about the creators of this song. Ugh.

So...programming made by Chinese, art made by a Russian, music created by Japanese and French...what a global effort put into one game! Mind blown!

    • Right??? Haha it is sooo frustrating trying to find more concrete information about the soundtrack, which is so beautiful but only has these few articles written about it and no names for each OST. I wouldn't have been able to tell just by listening that the soundtrack was made by two different people or that they aren't Chinese at all. But yeah, when you put it that way, it really is a global effort hahaha!

My frustration partially extends to LN's soundtrack, where more and more songs have been introduced since the original base game (such as the hell event themes), and yet I don't know any information at all about them despite my scouring of the internet. Sighhh. :^D

  • Have you/others decided not to use the Needs HQ image category anymore? (Asking for clarification.) If so, I'll start removing it from pages that still include it.

  • Apparently, both of this item's evolved forms are named "Blood Rhombus Yarn - Rare". I was wondering how we should name the pages. My thought was we could call the first evolved form "Blood Rhombus Yarn - Rare" and the second one "Blood Rhombus Yarn - Rare (Final Form)". Thoughts? :")

    • Hey! Yeah, that sounds good with me! They hardly need a disambig since one links to the other. Seeing the items be listed like that in game *again* was pretty frustrating but that sounds like a good fix

    • This has happened before?? I know the translation isn't the best, but it seems like the team is asleep on the job. xD

    • Bleghhh... yes. :P You can see my reaction to it here, at the bottom under New Dupes: https://lovenikki.fandom.com/wiki/User:Kuhlau/Dupes?oldid=43284

Basically what happened was I actually did go to in-game Support, and miraculously, they understood exactly what I was talking about. Then they went and fixed like, over 90% of the dupes in the next update, not just the Rare>Rare ones, which was unexpected. And since they have reverted their "fixes" before, that's why I waited a couple of update cycles to make sure they were going to stay that way in the game before fixing the entire wiki. :D

But yeah, obviously they've kept adding more and more, including some new ones in the same update they fixed the old ones, so whatever they did to fix the old ones was apparently a one-time thing. I sort of cringe at the idea of going to Support again about the same issue, especially since I have a mostly unsuccessful open conversation with them right now about Group Buy items not showing the right method of obtainment, so I just sort of gave up even though in theory it's an easy solution.

    • Wow, they really aren't paying attention, are they? :"D I don't blame them for repeats; it's difficult to think up 9,000+ individual names after all. But the "Rare>Rare" thing doesn't make much sense to me. xD In any case, hopefully they'll fix it in the update.

  • Hello, Whie I was looking through some suits, I noticed a tiny dot underneath the image. Is there something extra in the code? I coudln't find it in the source mode or in the source code for the template.

  • As I've been working on creating categories, I had a thought: do we have a category for suits that have not nor will ever return (as confirmed by the creators)? I think that information would be a good thing to add to the suit's page and as a category.

Off the top of my head, here are some that won't come back:

    • Hey! Yeah I absolutely think that's important info to add to the suit page. The last one I can think of is Banshee Momiji. Feel free to make a category too, the more information the better! Maybe it could be called non-returning suits or something like that.

    • Yeah, that's the one. Okay, I'll get started on that. ^_^

  • Thank you for the welcome! I'm happy that I'm able to help out. ^_^

Thank you for the pointers. I'm still getting used to how you format pages on here. :)

I appreciate the link for the insta-page creator. I already have a text document with the source code I need. If it weren't for that, then I'd be adding pages at a much slower pace. (Of course, Nikki's Info is a big help too. ;)) Thank you for pointing me to it anyway!
