Interpretation[edit | edit source]

The Miku iteration of Magical Mirai 2017 tells Nikki and co. (likely including Kagamine Rin and Kagamine Len too) to take a break from their search for Magical Mirai 2018, sharing her apples and cakes with them. They accepted and for some reason, Miku pointed to a specific apple. They asked what exactly she was planning to do with it, and she answered that they were going to plant it in a sand, so that they—maybe—will have an apple tree. Her justification was that food waste was not correct. As for the cake, the sight of it made them question why there was a birthday cake, and if it was someone's birthday that day. The cake was too sweet for Miku's liking, so she offered it to anyone who wanted to eat it.

In the midst of their break, the party had split up and Nikki went out searching again, leaving Momo behind. Miku asked him if he wanted a song or if they could play in the sand together, but when Momo asked why Miku didn't want to join them in the search, her reply was that she was confident in them finding her. Deciding to stay there to wait for them, she bid them farewell and a safe journey, but realized in the end that she had ran out of apples.

The item descriptions of Magical Mirai 2017 heavily references its theme song, Suna no Wakusei. In the song, Miku plants an apple tree in the desert and the music video shows a giant cake structure. Even the item names seem to refer to the lyrics in song, which in turn alludes to various famous VOCALOID songs. For instance, Dream of Chaos might refer to Mrs. Pumpkin no Kokkei na Yume and Talk of Hope may refer to Children Record.
