Interpretation[]
Gifted by a secret man, a boy received a magic pocket watch that could grant any wish for 24 hours. He thought for a second but hesitated, thinking it was impossible. If it really was true, then the world would be filled with people who were dead. Still, he made his wish, which took him back to the days he wore a school uniform. His wish was to relive that day when he failed to meet someone at the station. However, once the 24 hours had passed, he knew that reality would sink back in.
In the Japanese version, his name is revealed to be Akihiro. He's a male lead character of the novel called "Romantic Trip" written by Mr. Neko. He and Keiko, a female lead, were childhood friends and they had promised to elope. You can read full short story (in Japanese) here.
The Chinese version's translation, which can be read here, tells a lighthearted tale about the passage of time and an upcoming graduation instead of the story about time travel from the Japanese and English versions.
