Worshipped by the many, Grice's selfishness began to grow. She no longer felt satisfied for being a string puppet, manipulated by others for show. She had a soul, and she longed for being herself, she wanted freedom! Now that she had a pair of eyes which can charm everyone, was it justified for her to utilize them?
Grice made up her mind secretly to change something. So in the middle of her next show, Grice suddenly stopped her moves and started to enchant everyone with her eyes. Pallas sensed something was wrong, however, he could do nothing, for crowds of gazers, hallucinating and hailing her name, vowed that they would do absolutely anything for Grice, as long as she gives the wrod. Grice was pleased with what she saw, and she planned to establish a Grice Kingdom so that everyone would kneel before her! She was going to be the queen of the entire world!
Pallas, the only sober one on the scene, was not affected because he had no eyes. He felt obligated to prevent all of this from happening since he was the creator of Grice. Pallas groped his way to the stage, he told her they were not actually submissive but only bewitched by her and she ought not to be blinded by fame and fortune. But Grice immersed herself in the cheers of the crowd, ignoring Pallas totally.
Then Pallas had to make up his mind after some thought. He told Grice he created her and he cannot stop her if she insisted to be the queen, he would give her freedom if she could break free of the strings. Grice was confident. Why would some tiny strings restrict her? However, she fell down on the stage in the next second, the impact detached her delicate arms from her body. Only then did Grice abruptly realize she was a marionette after all, just with a soul. Like a lost kite, a puppet without strings was free, yet it cannot move any more. Pitiful, but was too late. Seeing that their queen had fallen on the ground, those bewitched audiences started to pack onto the stage like lunatics, seizing Pallas to revenge for their queen.
Suffering from the truth, Grice left the frenzied audiences trampling on Pallas, giving no reaction. By the moment Pallas was about to collapse, Grice's eyes suddenly flashed blood-red and she yelled -- I WON'T ACCEPT THIS! WHY AM I ONLY A PUPPET? I HAVE HANDS AND LEGS! I ALSO HAVE POWER! WHY CANNOT I HAVE FREEDOM? WHY CANNOT I HAVE DOMINATION? I WILL NOT, ACCEPT THIS!
'Are you still obsessed?' Pallas asked Grice in pain. 'In that case, I will take back my wish and my eyes gifted to you. Let us erase all that has happened!'
Grice screamed in horror! No! NO! STOP HIM NOW! Hearing this, the crazy mob flooded the stage, causing total chaos. But as the elves' magic faded, people slowly woke up, confused and had no idea what happened. They took the injured Pallas to hospital for treatment. After the crowd scattered, in the empty stage was the lonely Grice, a broken marionette without eyes, who went back to her old self. No one knows where did Grice go after that, when Pallas recovered from the hospital she disappeared without a trace. Only a legend about Pallas and his marionette was still told around Lilith Kingdom.
