Lore[edit | edit source]

All candor perished, all ardor vanished. One day, the desperate parrot princess plucked all of her white feathers, and in endless darkness her heart cried, crying of freedom and redemption. Blood wet over her plumage, dying into the deepest red color. In that dim evening, she revitalized raven new feathers like the charm of night.

At last, the pitiful bird flied the thorn-surrounding coop. She was scratched by sharp spines, leaving all shadows and wretchedness behind. Roosting on the peak of forest, scarred but vivid, she enjoyed herself in the mountain gale.

A heavy toll emanated from the distance, what was that for? For the a princess's death of naivety, [sic] or for a queen's rebirth of blood?

'By now, the night has crowned her, even the death cannot lower his dark torch in front her. She, the fair and proud one, is the unique queen of midnight.'

Night has crowned her, even the death cannot touch her. She is the only queen tonight.
Blood Serenade

They are like thorny roses blooming from desperation and hatred, full of blood and tears.
Parrot Fire

She once prayed, but god never shows any mercy. What she has is only the endless night.
Salvation Hymn

This soft bird made her way out of the cell of thorn. Though in black and blue, she was full of joy.
Cage of Thorns

All the darkness and dishonor was gone. On the summit of the mountain, she relishes the freedom.
Dark Crest

In the first dawn after the escape, she heard heavy bells from afar. To what the bell tolls[1]?
Bloody Feather

Her heart has never settled. This darkness freaks her out, but she has nowhere to run.
Salvation of Blood

Interpretation[edit | edit source]

Fire of Blood Parrot and Song of Dream Parrot describe the misadventures of a beautiful parrot princess who lived freely and happily in the wild, until she was captured by a Prince who claimed to be in love with her. Fire of Blood Parrot shows what ultimately happens to her: she does manage to escape from her gilded cage one night, and even when she's no longer the innocent and kind person she used to be, she enjoys being free again and embraces the darkness around her, despite being afraid of it.

The suit's design is based on the palm cockatoo. If not taken properly care for, they will pluck their feathers and make themselves bleed as a coping mechanism.[1]

Footnotes[edit | edit source]

[1] "To what the bell tolls?" or more accurately, "for whom the bell tolls" is an expression and novel by John Donne. The message is that each and every person's inevitable death is a loss to all of us, and that a bell will toll every time someone dies: “Any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.”[2]
