Interpretation[]
Qionqya, a daughter from a privileged family, is sent to Minglan Mountain at age six to master the sword and to see the world with detachment. Years later, she returns home only to find it in war-torn ruins - her family exiled, who cuts off relations with her in despair. Armed with her sword, she travels to the war frontier, where her father, a general, once advocated for peace but whose army suffered heavy losses at the hands of traitors. Years later, after reuniting with her family once more, she finds her mother who has died in her now disabled father's arms. Her father eventually dies to protect Qionqya. In a dream with her mother, she struggles to determine what kind of person she wants to be in a world she deems to be full of misery.
Escaping to a village, she is eventually taken in by a kind couple who she ends up saving with her sword. In them, she realizes even in chaos, there is still goodness. She rejects her learnings as a child to see the world with detachment and chooses to be an active force, finding nirvana even in her pain and finally answering to the dream with her mother.
