Interpretation[]
Vanyar was a girl from Wasteland who could heal and treat ailments with her singing. Her voice could also purify minds and dispel evil thoughts from one's head. Vanyar grows up and is curious about the world, prompting her to question what the difference between gods and humans are. Whilst traveling to find the answer to her question, Vanyar comes upon an old man in the desert, who is praying to the gods to save his ill granddaughter. Vanyar heals the man's granddaughter, but finds out an epidemic has affected an entire town. Despite her best efforts to make medicine to help the sick, Vanyar could not stop the disease.
Eventually, Vanyar is arrested by the king's soldiers who accuse her of being a witch and the one responsible for the disease. She is brought to the king and given the choice of serving the royal family or be imprisoned. Vanyar refuses, telling the king that people are suffering and need his help more than they need hers. She adds on that the family will die in pain if they neglect the people. Enraged by Vanyar's remarks, the king orders her to be executed, but Vanyar leaps out of the tower and lands on a giant bird.
Mounting the giant bird, Vanyar takes a gem from its mouth and sings, healing the people of disease. As she flies away from the city, Vanyar continues the search for the difference between gods and humans, rationalizing that more experience would help her come to an answer. The people of the city build a temple in her honor as the country heals and the king begins to care for his subjects.
