Interpretation[]
Coconut Island tells the story of Manta, a hard-working woman who lives in a large city. Manta wants to take a break from her work, but she finds it difficult to take that step. One day as Manta opens a memo, she finds strange words inside the schedule. Manta eventually begins to talk with the person whose writing has appeared in her memos - her name is Ada, and she lives in a small village, the two both not knowing where the other lives. Manta begins to put off her work to talk to Ada, comparing talking to her with a window to another world, and gets inspired by her because she left her hometown to travel. After work, she leaves on a plane to the rainforest.
Manta rides a bus, rests and gets a suntan on a hammock, and wanders in the forest drinking coconut juice. She sees many cute and interesting animals, and begins to realize that the world is bigger than she had thought. Of course, Manta relays everything she found in the rainforest to Ada, the notebooks keeping them connected.
